A Vendor’s Guide To Contracting With The City Of Yonkers

Purchasing Bids and RFP's

Prospective Vendors / Contractors / Consultants:

I am pleased to announce that the City of Yonkers has joined the Hudson Valley Municipal Purchasing Group (HVMPG), a regional bid notification system created in conjunction with and managed by BidNet®. The County Governments of Rockland, Dutchess, Ulster, Westchester, Orange, and Putnam are members, as well as numerous local governments and municipalities within these counties.

The HVMPG system enables municipalities to post all of their bidding and quoting opportunities on one central website. This means that you will not only have access to all of Yonkers’ bids and quotes, but to all the bids and quotes issued by the other 28 participating municipalities.

In order to take advantage of this system, you must register. If you are currently registered on this system through another municipality, you do not need to register separately for the City of Yonkers.

· You can register for free and have the ability to view the website and check for bids. You can also download or order documents. You may also respond to informal Requests for Quotations (RFQs) electronically but will still have to check for these opportunities.

· For an annual fee, you will be notified instantly by e-mail or fax of all new bids, quotes, or proposals issued by the HVMPG that fit your profile. You also get instant notification of amendments, online access to all award information, and can respond to informal quotes electronically.

Although you do not have to register with the HVMPG to do business with the City, this user-friendly system offers substantial benefits for both vendors and municipalities.

First, you save time by receiving documents quicker than by mail or courier. Second, your selling opportunities are expanded by having instant access to solicitations from 28 Hudson Valley municipalities.

The City benefits by saving taxpayer dollars when it comes to the cost of reproduction, printing, and mailing.

If you would like to register, you can do so by going to http://www.govbids.com/scripts/HVMPG/public/home1.asp and clicking on the “Registration” link or by calling the BidNet® Vendor Support Department at 800-677-1997 extension #214.

The registration fees for automatic notification are:

E-mail $49.95 for 1 year; $79.95 for 2 years; or $99.95 for 3 years.

Fax : $56.95 for 1 year; $93.95 for 2 years; or $120.95 for 3 years.

These fees are payable directly to BidNet® and the City does not receive any portion of the fee.

The City is excited about joining the Hudson Valley Municipal Purchasing Group’s centralized bid notification system. We look forward to providing you with greater access to bid information, less paperwork, and a streamlined procurement process.
